Pinks Beauty Training Academy and the Environment

As part of our ethos of responsibility towards our students’ education we also believe that responsibility for the environment and those around us are vitally important. To this end we have implemented a number of campaigns.

Environmental Schemes
Electricity - All our buildings are now supplied by 100% clean and renewable energy provided by Southern Electric.

Recycling
Where ever possible we use recycled paper in our manuals and all our correspondence. We also hope to send all confirmations by email in the future to remove the pollution created by postage and the paper wastage.

We also recycle all relevant products used in the Academy from paper in the office, to empty massage oil bottles and couch roll, something that we also recommend to our students for their salons and spas.

Charity Appeals - Breast Cancer Care
With the large majority of our students be fully aware of the important work that this charity does it seemed the obvious chose to be the organization the Pinks supported. Not to mention our shared fondness of the same colour!

Our main fund raising activity is created during our assessment days were models are asked to make a small donation in exchange for a variety of free treatments with all the money going to the charity.

Go Green and Get Swapping with DITCH2SWITCH!
A venture that is close to our hearts at Pinks as its creators are ex-students, this is a great way to combat the wastage that old clothes create. Concerned about this and the new trend for “disposal fashion” two Belper based image and style experts have set up an number of road shows where you can swap clothes. Louise Adam and Jay Hurley of Savvy Style Consultants Limited, Belper have a passion for fashion but with a conscience.

The savvy duo’s eco-road show, branded Ditch2Switch, promotes the concept of “reusable fashion” by encouraging people to ditch their unwanted clothes at the show and with a bit of flair and imagination, breathe new life into their tired wardrobes by switching for something else. The savvy duo have already received a community award from The Conservation Foundation and O2 in recognition of their road show’s ecological aims.
